I was thinking (just for fun) let’s reinstate some of the popular Christmas traditions of the 1900’s, such as this:

O’ empty your mind of filth, depraved reader! On Christmas at the turn of the century (1900) wives would beg their husband for forgiveness for all the mistakes they made during the year. This seems eminently sensible. While it’s incumbent upon the long-suffering husband to endure a wife’s failings throughout the year with stoicism, a show of genuine contrition right before she gets into the kitchen to prepare your Christmas supper would be a nice touch. AND it would help to return the Universe to its proper equilibrium. Win-win, I say!
